This bug matters. I have a pretty vanilla installation, python,
matplotlib, and a few other standard packages, all from the official
repositories. After a recent apt-get update, I now get the same exact
pip breaking result as the first comment.
The workaround was to use easy_install to install pip
I can confirm that this bug still occurs on Arch Linux using KDE 4.13. I
get no error message though, after applying the new name settings
kcm_useraccount just freezes.

After update from 12.10 to 14.04, when i use a hot key at the top of the
keyboard the same time at the current field hit also zero.
After some try I found a KEYBOARD_KEY_94=0 entry at
/lib/udev/hwdb.d/60-keyboard.hwdb under
keyboard:dmi:bvn*:bvr*:bd*:svnHewlett-Packard*:pnH
The "wordpress" package also needs the mysql abstraction added to its
profile...
