I attempted unity 8 because after upstart I have no launcher ,

I'm trying to get sound to output the HDMI output to a projector but
somehow fouled up all the sound and now although I can see the other
sound cards and devices (local, hdmi, etc), I can't get the sound piped
into them.

Thanks for your response. I am too not a big Linux dev kind of person,
but I am using Ubuntu for last 5 years without any dissatisfaction. In
fact I love Ubuntu for its usefulness. With respect to error I am
