That is correct Jeff, it depends how individual OEM implemented the UEFI.
If the location of UEFI is same as legacy SMBIOS then no issue but if it
differs then it will break which is happening on latest implementation on

The root cause of this is a missing entry in the upstart init config:
/etc/init/oem-config.conf
Specifically, the upstart config is not attaching STDIN to the job.

Most of these problems were fixed by replacing NetworkManager with WICD.
NetworkManager was actually losing the connection with the printers,
even though I could surf the net all day long.

Francois, I am not a "techie" but I'll try to describe the procedure:
from the desktop you will have to start a terminal-session.
Start Applications menu -> Accessories -> Terminal. Or use the keyboard
shortcut Ctrl + Alt + T
then from the command-prompt type:
sudo apt-get remove update-man

As a workaround, i just copied the respective "*.desktop" file from "
/usr/share/applications/ " to " ~./
The OpenIPMI portion of this issue now seems to be fixed in Utopic &
Trusty and I will try and verify the fix for Precise:
