i should add, too, that the typical way a user confronts this bug is
by right clicking on the desktop pager and selecting the option from
the context menu to change the pager preferences. this results in no
apparent effect, but ultimately, this is what's happening underneath.

Sudo service nfs-kernel-server restart will appear to work, bu t sudo
service nfs-kernel-server status will show nfsd not running. It can't be

Disabling FlightMode after a reboot can result in Wi-Fi incorrectly
being enabled
actually my Lenovo T61 with nVidia was perfectly fine in 12.04, but
since upgrading to 14.04 (and a re-install did not help neither) I now
encounter this issue, that it does not completley switch off when
selecting power-off. Hibernate if working fine though.
