I was hitted by the same problem on the same Ubuntu version 12.04
However I found a better upstream bug to explain it:

so it seems that the problem has been fixed on version 3.4 but
Ubuntu 12.04 is running spamassassin 3.3..
Frédéric, note that the 'owner' keyword means that the user running the
program must also own the file; with most files in /usr/ being owned by
root, this addition would only work if you're running Firefox as root.

I'm quite sure this is due to the 'unix' apparmor denials.
You should be able to workaround this by adding the following to
/etc/apaprmor.d/local/usr.sbin.cupsd:

me headaches at installing debian/ubuntu distro via pxe on vlan tagged
networks . Those where use of native vlan is reserved/forbiddenand where
you must pass many mutualised switches.
