that my laptop screen no longer turns off after 5 minutes as I had it
configured. In System Settings - Energy Savings, I have Screen Energy
Savings set to turn off after 5 minutes and it's been this way

I use solely systemd booting.
So, I have systemd-sysv installed and upstart, systemd-shim, cgmanager,
libcgmanager0, removed.

Problem still persist in 14.10, but can add this information:
Woofer goes only when song is manually changed (rhythmbox), if autoplayback
than woofer is ok on song change. so i thing problem is somewhere where pulse
or alsa goes standby.

I believe that this is an old bug that it is fixed on newer versions of
ubuntu (not fixed on the version in ubuntu software center, though).
Please try to install the latest wallch version using these commands and
tell us if your problem persists:
sudo add-apt-repository
