PS: The problem only occurs if I start a program from a Root terminal.
If I start it with sudo from a normal terminal, I do not run in the bug
at all. There are some error messages in the terminal, but everything
works fine.

After pure installation of Ubuntu 14.04.1 none of my USB3 ports works.
I tried to connect few devices, no response in Unity nor KDE, but lsusb can see
them:
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 2717:0360

Bus 007 Device 001: I
Similar here, I cannot use nothing connected to USB3 (although lsusb command
can see it).

This kind of lockup happens often.
When running 'top', even with no specificl applications running,
the number of 'buffers' continually increases,
the amount of fre memory continually decreases.
always requires a hard re-set
And a parital work around gets xpad and able to change the titlebar by
running the command sudo `chown lubuntu .config/ ` allthough this does
not get the correct file loaded for keyboard shortcuts.

I would like to add a screenshot along with my support for Dd that this might

Started with a Linux Mint 17.1 (Rebecca) system such that 4GB is
reserved for swap and Mint occupied 23GB, leaving 24GB available for
Xubuntu. I booted into the thumb drive desktop. I successfully
installed Xubuntu 14.04.2 from the ICON on the desktop.

My fingerprint reader does not work after "waking up" my laptop.
This happens on both fingeprint GUI as well as fprint.
There is a workaround for fprint, fingeprint GUI crashed everytime. Had to
uninstall.

- go into suspend mode
