on that vivid i386, after each cold boot, when i need "sound" to be played, i
have to set back the "Volume Control -> Output Devices -> Built-in Port" to
"Line Out" instead of the default "Headphones".

Same issue occured on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS after upgrading kernel to 3.16,
and Xorg (LTS hardware enablement program). Screen was frozen, but I
was able to recover by switching to a VT and restarting X (switching
eventually worked after a long delay). Never any problems of this sort
with the 3.13-kern
It is my understanding that GOARCH doesn't include the endian
information on any architecture. So the assumption to use ppc64el seems
to be outdated.

Unchecking X11 Sync objects solved the problem, I'll try to reenable it later
if I see some compiz/nvidia update.
Should I understand the correct bug is already reported? if not, should I add
some package as affected by this ticket?

I'm testing Ubuntu GNOME Vivid 20150224 and I'm doing some follow up
testing possibly related to bug #1425350.
I find that simply choosing to log out results in a nearly blank screen
and it's not possible to call a TTY, so a hard reset is needed to reboot
and start over.

For me it didn't work with the Ubuntu Software center as this surpresses some
feedback from the Installer.
So it worked for me from the command line with simply:
sudo apt-get install ttf-mscorefonts-installer
Then You need to conform the ms-ugly EULA, but you will have Arial etc
after that :)

multipath -ll command not showing proper boot disk .
i have assigned 60G ds8k SAN disk and rest IO Disk of sizes 20G and 10G from
ds8k and XIV.
lsblk and lsscsi -s shows proper boot disk name ( sdq )
but multipath

In utopic, /usr/share/man/man1/gem.1.gz points to gem2.1.1.gz, and comes
from the ruby package.
Note that in trusty, /usr/share/man/man1/gem.1.gz pointed to
gem1.9.1.1.gz (also from the ruby package), and gem1.9.1.1.gz comes
from the ruby1.9.1 package. Looks like gem2.1.1.gz was left out of the
