respect your change to root. Your path *will* work, but will break
anyone that doesn't have their root device on multipath.

I can confirm that 802.11ac mode seems to make the link more unstable -
especially the 5 GHz network.
However, I discovered that with Ubuntu 15.04 and the 3.19.0-21 kernel,
turning off power management improves the stability a lot.

I can't 'umount -f /mnt/storage' an NFS-filesystem whose remote end has
gone missing. The process just stalls in an uninterruptable state.
Strace shows umount at some point tries to readlink() the mount point
which stalls
