to create a NMDevice instance for 'ccmni0', which is modem device,

I’m not seeing that here on my BQ 4.5 running the latest rc-proposed.
When you say that the browser crashes, can you describe exactly what
happens? Are there some crash files under /var/crash/ ?

Does it make any difference if you browse to that site when connected on
wifi VS mobile data connection?
Does clearing the cache (from the settings menu) help?

I can confirm that it works to create USB boot drives from the wily iso
files with the same hardware, when using other tools. I have iso-tested
