I confirm that, as reported by @rubo77, this issue does not happen using
non-Compiz desktop environments such as XFCE.
In the Ubuntu session, every time xorg crashes this happens _always_ on
a window/menu creation (i.e. after clicking on anything that should

My apologies! Apparently that .xsession-errors file is from a week ago,
when I still had a working install of 15.04, and its calamity of scary
error messages is... normal?
I deleted it, rebooted, and I'm not seeing it get recreated.

I have tried the patch attached and found that the automount does not
crash anymore with the error.
However I could not find the automount actually mounting anything.

I am experiencing the same issue on Ubuntu 15.10 with Kernel
4.2.0-16-generic, on my MSI Z97 GAMING 9 AC. The only way to fix it for
me so far was to disable the USB external power or something like that
under Advanced Settings/USB.
