Thanks for reporting this bug in the octave package of Ubuntu. This bug
has been fixed in newer versions of the octave package, for example in
Ubuntu 15.10, the current release.
This bug can be worked around with the following fix:
sudo mkdir -p /usr/share/octave/packages/3.2
sudo apt-get -f

@pat we need more of Ted's input then, as I don't follow what he's
suggesting as a fix.
My understanding is that lttng reporting is only enabled with a
particular env var. So it should always be off by default. But these
errors printing in logs would suggest otherwise.
