I believe I have the same issue in 16.04. But often, when copying files,
disk-activity stops. I expect a notification, but there is none. So I
minimise each window, looking for it, nothing. Then I have found that by
switching to my nautilus file browser windows and then resizing them
with ctrl+cmd+

I have a networked Canon pixma mg6320. Printing was no problem. Using
xsane I receive 'invalid argument' although the scanner is listed twice
in the opening dialog. I am able to scan using gimp. Re the SaneDaemon
tutorial I added /etc/systemd/system/saned.socket and saned@.service.

LXD 2.0.6 is bad, it will accidentally convert some containers from
unprivileged to privileged on upgrade (only affects existing containers)
and may also inadvertently remap containers on migration.
Upstream will be releasing a new LXD 2.0.7 release shortly to address

I did not test the upgrade from Ubuntu 16.04.
I did install gnome-control-center 1:3.20.2-0ubuntu2 from yakkety-
proposed on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 and confirmed that it now depends on

Okay, sorry I was wrong again. The other issue just handles the
cryptswap-stuff which seems to be an issue for years in Ubuntu (and gets
closed most of the times).
However, I was finally able to boot my system and wanted to share for
others who might be run into this issue with systemd timeouts:

Boot with Linux 4.4.0-47-generic (upstart) instead of (systemd) now led to tty1.
The Login-Screen did not show-up at all. CTRL+ALT+F7 did not react.
