Initial symptom: Various applications (Firefox, gnome-terminal, other
GTK3 apps) crash immediately on startup in a standalone VNC session (for
example using a vnc4server session). An strace revealed that libepoxy
tries to load libGLX_indrect.so.0 and fails, but then crashes
Just to add a note: this issue also occurs when using VPNs: I use
NetworkManager OpenVPN and when I start up the connection I can't
resolve DNS hosts from the VPN DNS server until I run "sudo killall -HUP
NetworkManager" or similar. This has to be done every time the VPN goes

Upgraded to Kubuntu 17.10 beta 2 today.
On logging in I was unable to connect to any network services. I
discovered that any DNS lookups returned SERVFAIL. It seems the caches
being used in my university don't support DNSSEC yet and, despite the
systemd-resolved man page

I have a ldap login configuration that has worked with several Ubuntu
versions.
Unfortunately it doesn't work with 16.10.
If I left my ldapi setting using a name as I used to, the login prompt
never appears. If I change the ldapi setting to the IP of the
authentication

This report was made on Xenial; that error is well seen since ages, but sadly
its a too generic error to get it fixed.
Myself, actually using Zesty & a gnome-shell session, had not that issue since
months.
You might need to clean your system (autoremove/gtkorphan/bleachbit as root but
carefully
