a list of obsolete nvidia drivers. It doesn't seem to have been updated
recently:

I'm sorry, and thank you very much.
It's rather strange that MariaDB replaces mysql-common with no chance to be
restored when switching back to Mysql.
I've managed to restore the correct version of mysql-common with aptitude.

The test looks good, here are my repro steps:
1) Create an Ubuntu 16.04 VM in Azure
2) Attach 128GB data disk
3) Partition and format the disk
# wipefs --all /dev/sdc
# sgdisk -Z /dev/sdc
# sgdisk -n '1:2048::264191' /dev/sdc
# mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdc1
Expected result: mkfs

With the attached patch the modules are compiled for the right version
for me. It seems like the postinst wasn't working if the passed in
version (from the kernel's postinst.d) happened to be the newest kernel.
I'm not sure why that stopped working. It could be that this code is
meant to return
