I had the crash while using gnome-shell, and also while using unity.

I'm unable to reproduce this issue. The host stays responsive and the
dd command completes in a reasonable amount of time. QEMU does not
exceed the 64-thread pool size.

Same issue here, no Wi-Fi or ethernet connection working.
No resolution problems, but when I restarted after the update I noticed the
dimension of the Launcher icons was different than usual (it's usually set at
38, after the update it was switched to 48 or something like that).

nvidia_backlight.c thinks the graphics chip is connected to LVDS, hence
create a backlight interface, 'nv_backlight'.
This can be somehow 'workaround' in userspace tool, but I think it's not
the best way to do it - the backlight interface shouldn't be there if
it's not working at all.

@Stefan, thank you. I can also confirm that linux-image-extra was not
installed (I used Ubuntu Software Updater to do original upgrade) and
running apt dist-upgrade solved the issue.

I have a Dell Latitude E7450 here and can confirm the problem. As soon
as I try to activate both monitors over the docking station I end up in
a kernel panic. When I go back to to 4.4.0-72-generic all works as
expected.
