After running for about 24 hours I got a large number of "aacraid: Host
adapter abort request (2,0,0,0)" errors and then the following:

After making the required settings in alsamixer, do `sudo alsactl store
0`. This will make your settings persistent on reboot.

Affects me too. This computer (an Asus VivoBook V551L) has worked
successfully on about seven previous Ubuntu versions, but on upgrading
to 17.04, it won't boot with exactly the error described above.

I did this morning. unfortunately some strange side effect has completely
disabled the bluetooth. I dont even see the Ubuntu bluetooth item on the
wifi drop down menu at the upper right on the Gnome desktop. I have tried
everything to "enable" bluetooth but to no avail.
it seems the problem is now
