Same problem on fresh 17.10 install using LG Tone HBS920 headsets.
An LG FH2 portable rolling speaker seems to work fine though.
The workaround of disconnecting my LG headset under Bluetooth Settings
and then reconnecting does allow me to switch from HSP/HFP to A2DP.

I have two machines, both running xubuntu. They use the same keyboard
and mouse interfaced through a kvm.
The machine upgraded from 14.10 to 16.04 works fine.
The machine with a clean 16.04 fails. xev shows no middle button, but
the wheel works fine.
Both are fully updated.
$ lsb_release -a
Yes, installing iscan was the first thing I did. I had to install it
when I was running 16.04 and the scanner worked, so I knew it was
needed.
I tried to install sane-backends, but I got this response:

gnome-session-canberra recommends libcanberra-pulse
Sound effects still seemed to work without libcanberra-pulse when I
tried it, but I'm guessing it's better if the package is installed.
I have the exact same problem after installing a fresh version of 17.10
with Xubuntu on 2 laptops with the same graphics card running the
i915-driver. It happens randomly. The desktop just freezes for some
seconds. Previously running 16.04 with no problem.

Hello Everyone. I've been following this thread and tried every fix here to no

I live in Canada and I want to keep my Ubuntu in English, with Canadian Locale
because most of the time I'll be writing in english and working regularly with
Canadian (very similar to us) locale, I guess...

During an attempt to solve the problem myself I discovered
*) The problem did not exist on ubuntu 17.04
*) When removing the option `gfxmode $linux_gfx_mode` in the grub2 boot config.
It boots perfectly fine.
*) When investigating the value `$linux_gfx_mode` in the boot console, the
