The Ubuntu installer from live USB goes through the entire process of
formatting the drive and then it fails on installing GRUB. I tried it 3 times
to be sure. I'm not sure how I could find more information like logs to post

I am running in to this issue. I see no new activity for over a year.
Is there an update or documented workaround that fixes everything? Just
trying to make power work properly on VMWare workstation. Thanks

I can not pass pass about this linking problem , because re running the
build process is very time consuming . Any way I will let it build with
gcc and I will replace in gcc build the gfx/skia dir with the one build
by clang .

git-ubuntu builds automatically on Launchpad and I happened to hit a
window where one build passed and one did not build quite correctly. In
between the snapcraft update hit ftpmaster.
I see:

You must give at least one re
Confirming that it seems to only affect 32-bit, and is caused by the
MPRIS2 plugin. It's still unclear what exactly is causing the failure.

/xenial/daily-live/20180228/xenial-desktop-amd64.iso.zsync
until the new user was set up. At that point, while the terminal was available,
there was no desktop, and no wireless.
Since I intend doing another test with that laptop, and there is no
working install, those files will not be available
