Its true, a very easy workaround is to install the fonts-symbola package:
sudo apt-get install fonts-symbola
Afterwards, all works fine.

@Dimitri, just out of curiosity, that Xfe ticket that you mentioned is
from 2010. So the "-Bsymbolic-functions" is on Ubuntu
Thank you for your kind response. After reporting that bug I realized the
problem and to solve the problem I simply opened the terminal and installed
grub manually "sudo apt-get install grub". And my machine is now working
fine. I think it's a better solution.
