usually defaults in libvirt are aligned at max-compatibility not
max-performance.
You can make qxl faster by ensuring you are using spice, but I think it is the
default as well.

I got the same issue for a professional project with Bionic package.
Compile is fine but program crashes on the target.
Investigations revealed that the crash come from the use of atan2f in my
program. the use of atanf trigger exactly the same issue.
The issue is not present with Xenial package

A lucky run I guess; repeated the test and had two machines exhibit the
symptom.
I think this is something todo with the specific hierarchy of interfaces
I have configured, and netplan applying them to systemd-networkd; If I
restart systemd-networkd, the ip configuration is as I expect, but
I am facing this issue too. Is there a workaround as I have very limited
disk space and this is killing it!

Just discovered the following: If I connect via WiFi to my network
everything works as expected. But then when I disable automatic connect
for wireless, and instead acitvate for a cable connection the auto
connect, then after a reboot the above described problem arises.
