I tested the latest kernel 4.15.0-35 and 4.15.0-34 for comparison and both got
similar results with a full stress-ng test by stress-ng in the GUEST and the
HOST running the 4.15.0-35 kernel.

I started the computer after having been away for a week and started BOINC to
resume processing, but I could not use the mouse to select the process.
I then noticed that software updater was loaded so I reckon that software
updater was the culprit.
But ...
I decided to first log a bug against

Could not calculate the upgrade.
Doesn't tell me what the problem is. I have unchecked all other software
in "Software and Updates."
Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS
Expected system to upgrade, or at least give me an error for what is
wrong. Instead, I get a message saying that

When the mouse is not working (which sometimes happens) then the project
cannot be selected via the keyboard so that operation cannot be resumed
(or suspended).
This is not good for people with a mouse arm.

Recently bought a new Acer Swift 3 laptop and installed Ubuntu 18.04 on
it. Everything works except the internal microphone. I have also tested
with an external microphone and this didn't work either.
I have worked my way through all the suggested solutions I could find,
