That (python3-pip) does install pip3, but it also installs all of
python3.6. Also, the pip3 it installs is by default set up for python3.6
(/usr/bin/python3), sadly.

I'm sorry, I messed up above. The pip3 binary is part of the python3-pip
package. In other words pip is package separately from python. (Or
pip3/python3 as in this case)
So
sudo apt install python3-pip

There is an audio crackle every few seconds when I use headphones. Under
the sound tab in settings the "Line Out-Built-in Audio" device flickers
at the exact moment there is a crackle. By opening the pavucontrol audio
manager I can see the "Built-in Audio Analog Stereo"
The python3 package is python 3.6. It does contain pip3 (for python 3.6 of
course, so not useful in my case). The python3.7 package has no pip or pip3.
What I attempted to do:

I have the same problem and I have not found any solution in the forums.
A temporary solution, a little silly, is to save the fig file with
another name ("save as" option) and compile again. It keeps the error
but at least it creates the new eps file.

upstream states that it is deprecated in

Deprecation rather than removal might be OK, but the upstream diff
suggests to me that -Ddb-path is now ignored

it does not affect cosmic or disco, as Lubuntu no longer uses scrot or,

and 4a07750ba8f3f are needed as a prereqs as well. The test kernel can be
