Come to think of it, I'd say we should always fade (or transition
somehow without "flicker") into an Ubuntu logo. Regardless of whether
BGRT is present.
That way people get a better idea of when Ubuntu is starting and it
doesn't look like it's stuck on the BIOS.

OK, so this is annoying.
The background behind the report I made on 2018-07-03 (message #47) is
that I have had a Mint install on a desktop computer (fairly old
hardware) and that at some point I started to switch over to the Dell
Latitude E6400 laptop that I mentioned (just swap the hard drive, a

Reverting to 5.0.0-20 fixed wifi for me, this kernel doesn't load rtwpci
module. I updated to 5.0.0-23 today, same problem as 5.0.0-21. I don't
see any errors but wifi does not find networks.
I added debug_mask option to kernel command line and output journalctl
-b0 is attached. I did not blacklis
I am sure it's in UEFI mode, without CSM.

It kind of looks like something is doing a VT switch during boot,
changing to text mode, before the Plymouth animation starts. So the
plymouth animation then uses the text theme.
It doesn't happen all the time though. Sometimes on a warm boot it works
properly and I get a graphical animation.

liburiparser-dev is already the newest version (0.8.4-1).

I really need an up to date version (0.9.3).
