VLC is a media player... Kind of like a text editor, Opening files from
arbritary locations is well within expected usage... At minimum, Snap
should allow users to open arbritary files via the open dialog. Or maybe
vlc should not be installed as a confined app..

Update: I have disabled and removed all the additional extensions from:
/home/user/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions, after 3 hours of uptime, now
the ram is stable on the 200mb/300mb.
So I think the problem was caused by some extension.

yours. But it seems it is not happening here. Did you reboot after the

The error seems to originate in the call to the cuserid function in
loadsave.c. It returns an address that is not accessible. I suspect this
happeens because cuserid is not thread safe. The easiest workaround is
to not call cuserid at all.

It seems xkb/xorg keyboard modifier changed for your case (Lenovo has a
bad history). So already pre-defined shortcuts are not working like
Super + D = Desktop
Super + F = File Lens
So instead use Ctrl+Alt+x, Ctrl+Alt+F etc from control-
center->keyboard->shortcuts.
