This happened for me yesterday, when booting the main Ubuntu 20.04 beta
x86_64 iso on real hardware (not a virtual machine). It has a graphical
splash screen but in the upper left corner I get this "console" message.

Summing up the rate we have 1/14 fails, all green to release the SRU for now.
Much better than the 100% fail rate we had before since the gettimeofday header
change :-)
If the rate goes up again we can consider adding the fix, but for now
I'd think unbreaking the upgrade to focal is more urgent a

are now. To re-iterate, with 20.04.1+git19.3bd1382b I can successfully install
on a NVMe disk when I choose 'Use entire disk' and select that disk.
i downgraded for the time beeing to 4.15.0.96 were the issue doesnt
exist didnt want to but i have to work on this machine...

I can confirm that this is now fixed for me on Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS with
kernel 5.3.0-46-generic. With this kernel, my Dell Latitude E5470 with a
i5-6440HQ now consumes about 4W in idle instead of 9.W as before.

this issue, btw I am will dell xps 15 9570 is a 4k display model, this
issue is with me since ubuntu 18 / 19 and now 20.

It seems to be invalid-testing on Linux Mint and on Debian and can't
seem to reproduce the issue, was probably just a glitch in installing.

this behavior again; firefox window as opened can be seen at this picture

(closing and re-opening firefox and the reaction is the same
refer prior comment.
all I did here was hit maximize on the firefox window; it's now using
full width of display but isn't using any more vertical real-estate..
