Hey Vasant,
I will prepare the SRU for 20.04 but in the meanwhile, it would help if you
could confirm
that the groovy version of libvpd 2.2.6-1ubuntu1 works properly for you.
Thanks in Advance

Confirmed, I still was able to reproduce this on groovy with sudo
1.8.31-1ubuntu1, but groovy is now updated to 1.9.0-1ubuntu1 and now the

It worked! I added a few parameters to grub before but the did not
worked.
For future reference to others:
- Access the grub configuration file by typing in a terminal: sudo nano
/etc/default/grub
- Find the line "GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT" and append i8042.nopnp=1 pci=nocrs
- Save the file
I don't know enough about the scope of the release-upgrader in terms of
what it covers, but just to say, this bug also affects me on this
machine when I clean-install from liveUSB, for either ubuntu or xubuntu,
and also when I'm running the liveUSB without installing.
