I had already wiped Ubuntu because of librtlsdr0 not working, so I
installed it on a flash drive. I tried doing this procedure again, and

Hi,
thanks for your response.
So... I downloaded this ISO directly from ubuntu website. I think it was
supposed to work well. Anyway, I've got problems when I try to install
Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu 18.04, Pop_OS! 20.04 and Pop_OS! 19.10. Only Linux

That's not unity. You are running gnome-shell. And AFAIK, interactive
mode has been removed from gnome-setting-daemon. In dconf the options
are still there because it is carrying those old patches for unity.

If you pick the solarized dark theme, then palette #9 of the colour
scheme is too close to the background colour.
I discovered this via joe-jupp's syntax highlighting - it uses #9 for
some sorts of text and it appears to totally vanish.

I have done that but I shouldn't have had to. There must have been some
change to Samba on the upgrade to 20.04 that caused it.

This bug still exists in 18.04 LTS (and has been present for many
versions).
Verified on an Acer Travelmate 2420. Blacklisting the module solves the
problem at the expense of the buttons/switch not functioning properly.
This fix should be ported into the kernel.
