Thank you Paul for reporting this! I have forwarded this to Dave and he informed me that this is now fixed in the new flash-kernel (it was already waiting in the Unapproved queue yesterday). Even though it's quite a serious issue, I consider it non-beta-blocking as it can be fixed with an upgrade.
