My Surfshark VPN stopped working after installing Ubuntu software updates.
I have Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS I received a pop-up on around Sept. 24 or 25 to
install updates and did so accordingly.
Since installing that set of updates I cannot connect to a VPN on this
computer.
Doko wanted to look into these lintian-triggered dependencies from the
MIR team (per last few meetings we had) so I'm assigning him here for

Have this issue on Mint 19.3 XFCE. This is a pain. Not sure but it seems

Today's daily (Lubuntu 20201011) was written with GNOME-DISKS with same
results.
Failure to boot on
hp dc7700 (c2d-e6320, 5gb, nvidia quadro nvs 290)
hp dc7900 (c2d-e8400, 4gb, intel 4 series integrated i915)
but i can boot it on other dell boxes (& more modern HP)

I've got my way through to a grub build (I'm going to append some extra notes
to your instructions) but, I'm unclear about where the:
$ sudo apt install ./*.deb
is supposed to be applied - are you doing this on your pxe/tftp
