If llvmpipe is working, that's just because it avoids using the GPU.
It's a slow workaround.
If going back to Mesa version 21.3.5-1ubuntu1 from Ubuntu reintroduces
freezes then I suggest that needs to be debugged by KDE/Plasma

The error in this case was during unattended-upgrades. I suppose that doesn't
need to be a fatal error - unattended upgrades is one of the last steps and the
system is, as noted, otherwise fine.
So that explains why the system was usable, but not why unattended-upgrades
failed.

should be done - either mv_conffile or rm_conffile from dpkg-maintscript-helper
or (since impish has a new-enough dpkg) use the new remove-on-upgrade flag in

for it anymore:
The flash-kernel-installer package isn't produced (as we don't produce
udebs anymore), and generally speaking, flash-kernel has little to do
with whatever appears on the boot partition in images. For instance,
