A few days ago I asked on #ubuntu-security about it and was told that it's
better to make a non-security SRU upload for it:

So I uploaded it, and now it's waiting in unapproved queue for a release team
member review:
I have a version with the last attached patch in my ppa. This version works for
me.
Is there a change we get a SRU for this? Who would make that request?

Unfortunately the link in comment #5 is the crash reporting tool
crashing. Reviewing the list of all crash reports from the same machine
shows no shell crashes since April 2021.
Please try removing any extensions you might have:
cd ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/
rm -rf extensions
and then log
