The benefit is in kernel boot time, so by the time cloud-init has
started, it will be too late to benefit the first boot. If such a
benefit is even wanted (given the compatibility concerns previously
cited), I suspect that the initial proposal of making this part of image
build would make more sens

I have resolved at least one variant of this problem:
My issue was I was repacking an Ubuntu ISO (24.04) to use with
autoinstall.yaml.
The problem was that when the /cdrom directory was getting mounted, the
root - i.e. /cdrom would have permissions rwx-- (0700).

LXD container didn't start.

We have seen this bug quite often on AWS when the customer is using
imported VMs. This means that cloud-init was initialized before the
image being imported to AWS, therefore, customers get that error when
converting to Pro. It has been quite a headache to be honest and while
the workaround works,

The system has two monitors. Workspaces are activated on the primary
monitor, but not the second. A custom background image is used on both
monitor desktops. Windows created on primary monitor then moved to
secondary e.g. firefox. Window moved towards top of secondary monitor.
I removed the mantic-related tag, because this fix already landed there
for the final version and no new SRUs are being done there as it is EOL

This bug has been already verified for 32.3.1, and now is being moved to
v32 in the changelogs.
Running the test script provided by Andreas shows that there is no
difference on outputs from the archive version to the proposed version
