Hi,
the problem is that exfatprogs changed the dump output some time ago. gparted
received as far as I can tell a patch in
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gparted/-/commit/35baa44e2f174504a20b22424285458d501dcda4
to read the new dump output and some follow up patches to also read the old
output.
Nick,
Re my duplicate report #2110755, I installed the regular desktop from a
24.10 ISO last year. As "apt list" says
bruce@corunastylis:~$ apt list | grep ubuntu-desktop-minimal
WARNING: apt does not have a stable CLI interface. Use with caution in
scripts.

@juergh I have been having issues getting Wi-Fi working on my new laptop
- same card, Lenovo Thinkpad. I can confirm that downloading the new
firmware and adding to /lib/firmware solved my issue, Wi-Fi now detected
and working as expected. Thank you so much, I was tearing my hair out!

It seems you are on an Ubuntu desktop but don't have ubuntu-desktop
installed, and it can't figure out that ubuntu-desktop is supposed to be
the right package that should be installed.

This is still incomplete. I provided a suggested workaround above and am
waiting for feedback. The op from the duplicate (or any others) is also
encouraged to try the workaround.

Nick-
I was running Ubuntu 24.10 desktop and the Software Updater popped up and
offered to upgrade to 25.04 so I did. That's when I got the error.
Unfortunately, before I got your message, I just backed up my data and did a
fresh install.
