Judging by Askan's original kernel log in comment #1, the i915 Intel
graphics driver started emitting warnings before Nvidia hit trouble.
Also the integrated GPU usually owns the laptop screen so this isn't
really an Nvidia bug.

So, I installed fresh 22.04 and 24.04 (without IP settting) then added
just two line in ssh.socket.d as you mentioned in description.
(confirmed that ssh.socket is active)
then tried to access them.

I can now report that the problem was not a bug after all. I had already
noticed some problems on the disk where an Ubuntu instance was installed.
The next day that instance crashed. I checked and repaired the disk - 4
errors were found.

I think this looks ready for oracular. The SRU documentation is what I
would expect according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SquidUpdates.
Once build and test results are published for noble, I think noble will
be ready too.
