Remark: A long time ago this had worked perfect with Mozilla. But this major
feature (at least for all UNIX/Linux users) had been lost.
Question: When will this become a fixed one? Also this feature should be
included in the test suite (hopefully there is one) for the Linux part.

You meants GNOME's monoculture, sorry the world but is not GNOME.
Please areadd support for KDE as well as other window manage
Same behaviour here but with FVWM instead of KDE
