The referenced issue is *not* a graphics problem, it is a problem with libsdl-alsa not working nicely with pulseaudio's alsa emulation layer and can be worked around by installing libsdl-pulseaudio. However, that is *not* what this bug is about, this bug is about providing a reasonable workaround
