Title:
Cannot run Snappy apps with /tmp symlinked - "unable to create tmpdir.
errmsg: Permission denied"
Public bug reported:
An annoyingly simple bug. Should be easy to reproduce.
I have my /tmp directory symlinked to a directory in my /home filesystem
(/home/foobar/.slash_tmp). Permissions/ownership are root:root and 777
and no other apps or packages misbehave.
Running a Snappy app fails
Public bug reported:
I recently received my BQ Aquaris M10 and, after updating to OTA10, the
location indicator keeps appearing and reappearing. It's very annoying
and the only way to stop it is to disable all location services.
Rebooting does not make any difference.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Terminal app (for example).
2. Execute an interactive program, e.g. top
3. Open Unity app spread (Super+W).
4. Hover over Terminal window and click red 'X' button to close it.
5. Prompt opens: Close this terminal? as an additonal window in the app
Affecting me as well. This was incredibly difficult to find due to the
silent nature of the crash, i.e.:

I just installed Ubuntu SDK on Ubuntu 14.10 (upgraded from 14.04 just

Okay, turns out this is not a false reporting. My root filesystem turned
out to be eating inodes, locking up my system just a few minutes later.
Still, I'll leave this here in case it presents any usability issues
(e.g. better reporting that disk space is the cause).

Public bug reported:
Compiz has very strange and inconsistent behaviour when it comes to
corner or edge resizing in Ubuntu, i.e. dragging a window to one size
of the screen (or, if enabled, a corner).
Expected edge behaviour:
1. Drag window to edge of screen.
2. Window resizes to fill up that
Neglected to mention - I have attached a video in the first post
demonstrating the behaviour.

I was told a few packages were held back during an apt-get upgrade, so I
decided to push ahead with a dist-upgrade. This error was generated
along with the below output:

Since dist-upgrade to 14.10 Utopic, my system appears to be using
software rendering. Symptoms of this include a Unity dash/launcher with
no transparency (see attached screenshot) and Steam complaining to me
about software rendering on startup.
ProblemType: Bug
Right, I appear to have fixed this, at least provisionally.
I'm running an Optimus system, so I purged bumblebee* and bbswitch-dkms
as well as removing any mesa or *vdpau* packages. I then installed
xserver-xorg-video-intel (it wasn't installed for some reason) and
restarted X. I have
Just installed 14.04 and seeing the same error on boot.
I don't have any RAID setup, but I am using LVM ext4 volumes for /,
/home and swap. My /boot is on a separate ext4 primary partition in an
msdos partition table.

A bug that irks me a lot since installing Quantal Quetzal, as I work in

I did the DebuggingKernelBoot and was able to boot successfully without
