I found a temporary solution:
sudo cat /etc/default/grub
#GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="acpi=off splash"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi=force"
sudo update-grub

This problem still exist after upgrade to 12.04, really annoying that
ubuntu can't power off, every time I have to press the power button! I

I found by restarting the input method can temporarily fix the problem,
but it will appear again later on.

When I use kate to create a new file, and press save or save as, or use
Ctrl-S, a Save dialog pop up, then keyboard hangs, can't type anything
in the filename box, but mouse works. the only thing I can do is cancel.

After upgrade 11.10 x64, I have problem with shutdown, it just hanging
there with a ubuntu logo, then I have to press the power botton to shut
it down.
I tried 3 ways to shutdown, they are all the same.
1. From menu "shut down ..."
2. shutdown -h now
3. shutdown -P now.
