I managed to capture a dmesg running off the live USB. Similar to what was in the video, same ISO image. ** Attachment added: dmesg log from Ubuntu 14.10 daily ISO booting and crashing https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1349679/+attachment/4167124/+files/dmesg.txt -- You

Ok, I tested with a fresh ISO from: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-desktop-next/daily-live/current/ downloaded a few hours ago. Booting off of a USB flash drive, it does successfully leave the screen on, set video mode to 1920x1080, and have a working framebuffer console. Unfortunately, it

I will do this tonight when I get a chance. I was able to ssh into the machine even with the screen blanked so I should be able to pull logs from it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu.

Public bug reported: After upgrading my laptop to the 14.10 alpha release, I no longer get any display after booting past GRUB. I select Ubuntu from the GRUB menu and then the display shuts completely off (including backlight) and remains off until I hard-reset the machine. It does appear to

This is a deal breaker for me, I love Ubuntu but when it becomes too commercialized for its own good and starts spying on its users I can no longer run it with pride. I've switched my desktop over to Linux Mint which has no such privacy concerns. If you think this is a good move, think again,

[Bug 923250] Re: subwoofer and headphone won't play nicely on dv7

I just bought a Pavilion dv6z-7000 with Beats Audio speakers (AMD A10, 8GB RAM, 7730M GPU) and it is doing the same thing under Ubuntu 12.04. When I connect the headphones (using the 'ref' option) the subwoofer does not turn off (it keeps playing bass frequencies even after the main speakers and

I'm having this same bug on the ARM port of Ubuntu. I have LEGACY_PTYS=y, LEGACY_PTY_COUNT=256, and UNIX98_PTYS=y on my custom 2.6.35 kernel (this is for the HP TouchPad tablet computer btw) and after the system is booted there are /dev/ptmx, /dev/pts, and /dev/ptyXX entries in the system. I get

Has anyone found a way around this bug? It's become increasingly annoying and appears that the pycurl (or GNUTLS packages used by pycurl) bugs are affecting several other programs as well. For instance, running an SVN or Git checkout over HTTPS fails, trying to curl or wget a file over HTTPS
