[Acer 5755G] Laptop overheats and shuts down

After installing Bumblebee my laptop goes up to 89 degrees celsius but
it hasn't shut down eversince. I guess I'll close this bug now.
The question is why isn't Bumblebee installed by default on laptops
having Optimus technology.

I just tried running three 1080p movies and one 1080p youtube video. In
Ubuntu the temperature got up to 98 degrees celsius and the laptop shut
down. In Windows 7 the temperature stayed between 87-91 degrees during
the same test.
I also tried different versions of the kernel between 3.11.0-12 and
Joseph: I have no idea, updates are coming all the time. I have 5
different versions of the Kernel, I can run some HD movies and see which
versions get hot.

This is ridiculous. I have a brand new Saucy installation, I haven't
been messing around with anything like Kervin (who's not even the
original reporter) did and I don't have a clock right now! This issue
affects way too many people to close it as "invalid" based on one single

I just tested it with Ubuntu 13.10 (Kernel 3.11.0-12-generic x64) and
the issue is still present. I don't see the point of testing it with
3.12 rc7 since there hasn't been any activity upstream since the last 6
months.

As soon as I click on a different user I want to switch to in the gearbox menu
