Opened VM that was causing the issue and added your PPA. Got 2:4.21.4+dfsg-1ubuntu3.1~ppa1 Opened gimp image, edited, and saved. Opened back up ok with changes. Opened text file with xed, edited, and saved. Opened back up ok with changes. So far that seems like that's the fix, thank you :) I
