It's not that much of a problem if it expires whilst away from the
computer for a couple of reasons:-
1) It appears immediately after login - every time - see bug 412152
2) It leaves an icon in the notification area which you can click to find out
more. That icon is persistent.

I experienced this problem this morning on karmic. I then did as Chris
suggested, setting the gconf value, installing debug symbols and
changing the setting to the .desktop file. When I logout/in or reboot I
now no longer get a crash with g-s-d

The bug is not fixed in 2.6.27. In fact it's worse in some ways. The
device no longer shows up under /dev/ but does show up in lsusb and
usbview.

Unfortunately I have no way of testing because the nvidia card in the

the icons in FUSA break.

I have installed linux-backports-modules-intrepid on my (pretty base
install) of Kubuntu intrepid which has resolved the issue of connecting
to WPA secured wireless networks with network manager and kernel
2.6.27-9-generic.

I too am getting this on Gutsy. Why would you want it to depend on MTA
for a desktop install? I don't need an MTA on this box, surely I should
be able to use apt-listchanges with no mail sent?

On my Dell XPS Gen2, I get odd behaviour. Adding the led=1 option means
that after boot the wifi works, but the LED is off. If I use the soft
toggle (Fn+F2 on this laptop) to switch bluetooth and wifi off, the
bluetooth LED goes out, then when I toggle it back on, both the
bluetooth and the wifi li
I am also getting a USB key not recognised/mounted until I yank the
ehci_hcd module under 2.6.22-13-generic on a Toshiba laptop..
