Thanks for the kind words and prompt reply. I know how frustrating a

Just to clarify, this problem _started_ at the point I installed Ubuntu
Feisty 64-bit with the NVidia driver 9631 from the Ubuntu repository.

I managed to get this working by changing the cables used. Here's the

I have a GX2 based device (viglen MPC-l, made by FIC as ION, also sold
as Linutop2) where the graphics card has a manufacturer ID of "100b",
not "1022" as specified in the patch. As such xorg doesn't auto detect

On current Xorg in Jaunty I am getting no options other than the "right"
one for my panel. The laptop has a 1400x1050 screen which works fine,
but if I want to use a projector I can't see an option to switch to a
lower resolution

I have installed linux-backports-modules-intrepid on my (pretty base
install) of Kubuntu intrepid which has resolved the issue of connecting
to WPA secured wireless networks with network manager and kernel
2.6.27-9-generic.

I record screencasts with other applications (not istanbul), and
sometimes the high resolution (1024x768 and above) ones don't play on
some machines. I believe this is down to a problem with the video
memory/driver rather than istanbul itself. This is confirmed by the fact

Are you using the i810 driver (see /etc/X11/xorg.conf" or the intel
modesetting one).
I just did a test with istanbul 0.2.2 under Gutsy recording at 1400x1050
with the Intel 945 chipset and it played back in mplayer and totem fine.
I am using the intel modesetting driver "xserver-xorg-video-intel

This may be fine for a new install, but my laptop had four workspaces
which were named, after upgrading this has been reduced to two and the
names have changed from "workspace" to "desk".
Surely during an upgrade it should respect my settings?

I was mistaken because I have two edgy machines. One *has* four desktops
I named myself as "Dev | Web | Mail | IRC". I upgraded a *different*
machine however. That one now only has two wor
"Interestingly" if I boot to an older kernel - 2.6.15-25-386 (which I
have to because of bug 58469 not letting me get on the network I find
the workspaces revert to how they were - 4 of them named correctly.
