I have a radeon X700 and i have the same problem!
this appen after last update of xorg and radeon driver!
the same bug there in ubuntu feisty and gutsy. In hardy and intrepix was
fixed... and now RETURN?!

System freeze totally after some minutes that composite manager is enabled.
The only function that not crash is the mouse pointer,the rest is totally
freeze
CTRL+ALT+backspace doesn't work in this case, I have to use the
