Public bug reported:
Most keyboard have a 'Windows Start Key' button; or similar.
When you have an application open and click the Start button the
Canonical dash?; opens up.
When you have closed all applications and press the Start button,
Canonical dash doesn't open up; namely nothing happens.
Running from an Oneric x64 (non-mac) LiveUSB downloaded a few days ago:

This bug is affecting me as well. I'm running the stable Nvidea drivers
on 64 bit machine. It appears to happen most when using chrome. The bug
has also appeared under gnome 3.
