The error was still appearing after the upgrade, but I bumped the
settings in Keyboard Preferences, which I guess caused the config to be

After upgrading from 8.04 to 8.10 using update-manager, I had no 3D
acceleration. Xorg was still using the fglrx driver. Attached is my
Xorg.0.log from when it was failing.
The problem was fixed by purging some fglrx-related packages an
fglrx is working now, too. After some testing I'm satisfied that this
bug no longer exists. To get fglrx working (and indeed the radeon
driver) I first had to purge several packages and reinstall them:
apt-get purge fglrx-modaliases fglrx-amdcccle fglrx-kernel-source xorg-

When viewing http://youtube.com with flashplugin-nonfree installed, the
tiny window appears. After uninstalling flashplugin-nonfree, restarting
firefox and browsing to YouTube, the window doesn't appear. In Firefox
2, the window doesn't appear if mozilla-plugin-gnash is install instead
of flashplug
I think it's actually a bug in Flash. It only occurs when I visit sites
with flash, but then it hangs around until I close the browser. It
happens in both Firefox 2 and 3. I guess I just didn't notice it before
because my GNOME panel was in the way.

I got almost exactly the same crash when upgrading a small number (~20)
of packages. Attached is the traceback. update-manager continued to run
normally and completed the upgrade.
I had just changed /etc/apt/sources.list (using the Software Sources
applet) to include one of these lines:

The dialog in itself is expected. The bug I was reporting is that it
looks different to the dialogs of other packages dealing with the same
problem. It would feel smoother if they all looked the same.

I think I'm seeing this on Hardy too, or at least something similar. It
generated a crash report when dropping a menu item from one folder into
another, all within the same alacarte window. The window stayed open.

During the upgrade from Gutsy to Hardy, samba asked if it could
overwrite an existing configuration file. The dialog used was
significantly different to the dialogs of similar questions asked by
other packages: samba used a wizard where other packages had one yes/no
question.
The first time I tried suspending under Hardy, my wireless interface
didn't come back at all. The WiFi LED on my laptop didn't turn back on.
Removing /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules allows the wireless
interface to be restored after suspension. And it seems to have solved a
delay during
Verified: upgrading to 0.7.9.8-0ubuntu3 fixes the problem.
Also, a long-standing problem (that I should have reported earlier)
seems to have been fixed: in the past, the tablet often wasn't available
right after booting - I had to unplug it, plug it back in and restart X.

After upgrading to Hardy from Gutsy I get an XKB error (attached) when
logging in to GNOME. I have a Japanese keyboard which was set to use a
US qwerty layout. Since the upgrade the layout seems to have gone back
to Japanese.
I haven't manually changed anything in the Keyboar
