I experience the same on my Lenovo Thinkpad (Intel® Xeon(R) E-2176M CPU
@ 2.70GHz × 12 ) with ubuntu 18.04 and the *-177 kernel. No wireless, no
external monitor detected.
Happened after a hard reset. Switching to previous kernel fixes
everything.

I don't know how you decide what is a duplicate or not, but I really do
not think this is a dup, since this bug is about the font-weight (bold
)/font-type, not the font-size. The older bug is from 2010,

I'm specifying my issue, related to the initial bug report: I have no
issue with the font color/background color. Only that the font is bold
in the latest Netbeans version, so I can't see if a file opened in
Netbeans has unsaved changes or not..

$ killall lwsmd lwregd dcerpcd netlogond eventlogd lwiod lsassd
killall -9 if you have to. We're going to reset state anyways.
$ /bin/rm -rf /var/lib/likewise-open
$ mkdir -p /var/lib/likewise-open/{db,rpc,run}
$ chmod 700 -p /var/lib/likewise-open/db
Now
