I can confirm this. This isn't really a problem for me as I know how to
get around the issue, but I believe this is a show stopping bug for a
lot of people. The T60p is a pretty common computer in Norway at least,
so I think this issue warrants a higher priority.

jmg: I fix the issue manually by installing and configuring X, then I run
ubiquity and get a working system.

casper
I do:
aptitude install fglrx-driver
Then I edit
Workaround: remove kdm from the list before pressing next. This should
let the upgrade process continue.
