I would suggest to open a new feature request with a precise suggestion
what this feature should look like (e.g warning message, disable save
and only allow save as, open in another location,...), not? :-)

Well I can confirm this, but it isn't a bug as I know. Files opened via e.g.
Firefox directly to an application always have the default save path of /tmp
casue thats were they actually are at that moment...
